Whatsapp Onboarding

1. Introduction #

Floatchat provides a seamless onboarding process for setting up your WhatsApp number. Please note that assisted onboarding is required, and you can reach out to support@floatchat.com or the partner admin for assistance with adding a new number or onboarding a new account.

 

2. Availability #

For direct customers, you can add a new account by visiting the following link: https://wa.cbots.live/floatchat.

Partners should contact Floatchat support to obtain their custom link, which will be in the format: https://wa.cbots.live/<brand_name>.

Setup

Step 1

Go to the onboarding link and enter the email ID associated with your account.

Enter the OTP received on your setup email ID to proceed.

Step 2

After logging in, click on ‘Start Onboarding’ to begin the onboarding journey. Click on ‘Continue onboarding’ to resume from where you left off.

Note: Ensure that you have the required information before starting, such as the phone number to be used for WhatsApp Business APIs, the ability to receive OTP on this number via call or SMS, and the number not being active with any existing WhatsApp account. You should also have a verified Facebook (Meta) Business Manager account.

Step 3

Follow the instructions provided in the onboarding wizard based on your specific requirements. In certain scenarios, you may need to get in touch with Floatchat support for assistance, such as onboarding an IVR number, whitelisting certain numbers, migration from another BSP, migration from 360dialog, or unverified Facebook Business Manager.

Once all the prerequisites are met, you will proceed to the next step of account creation with the WhatsApp Business Service Provider (BSP).

Step 4

Click on the button “Click here to begin WhatsApp Onboarding” and follow the steps in the pop-up. Ensure that pop-ups are not blocked in your browser.

Provide the necessary details for account creation and complete the phone number verification. Make sure the phone number can receive OTP via SMS or Voice. Provide the OTP in the pop-up to complete the verification. You will then be redirected to the next step to retrieve the API Key.

Note: The API Key may take 4-6 hours to generate in some scenarios. Re-login to the portal to retrieve the API Key.

Retrieving the API Key #

If you need to retrieve the API Key, log in again and start from Step 2. Click on the “Login” link at the bottom to retrieve the API Key. Login to your previously created 360dialog account, select the desired number, and save the selection. You will then be redirected back to the onboarding portal with an option to copy the API Key.

Step 5

Copy the API Key from the onboarding screen and add it to the WhatsApp chatbot in your Floatchat account. You can do this by visiting the following link: https://app.floatchat.com/admin/configure/deployment/whatsapp. For more information, you can refer to this link: [Link to Floatchat Help Center].

Best Practices #

Follow these guidelines to ensure a seamless experience:

Direct Customers #

– If you already have an existing account with 360dialog BSP, migrate your account to Floatchat before proceeding with the onboarding.

– If you need to add a new number to the same 360dialog account, ensure it is added to the existing account on Floatchat with a different bot.

– Make sure that each account in the 360dialog hub has a corresponding account on Floatchat.

– For a new account on 360dialog, subscribe and create a new account on Floatchat.

– For a new number on the same account on 360dialog, you can have a new bot

 on the same account on Floatchat.

Partners #

– Always create a new account for each new customer and avoid adding numbers to the same account, as it may risk being blocked by Meta. If one number is impacted, it can affect other numbers in the same cluster.

– If you need to add a new number to the same 360dialog account for the same customer, ensure it is added to the existing account on Floatchat/white-label portal with a different bot.

– If a new number needs to be added and linked to a different account on Floatchat/white-label portal, create a new account on 360dialog.

– Make sure that each account in the 360dialog hub has a corresponding account on Floatchat/white-label portal.

– For a new account on 360dialog, create a new account on Floatchat/white-label portal.

– For a new number on the same account on 360dialog, you can have a new bot on the same account on Floatchat/white-label portal.
