1. Introduction #

According to Oracle, 50% of customers expect businesses to be accessible 24/7. Deploying a chatbot on your website enhances user experience by providing round-the-clock support and information. Floatchat makes it incredibly easy for you to deploy a chatbot on your website.

1.1 Availability 

To access web deployment, simply click on the “Edit Settings” button under Configure > Deployment > Website Chatbot.

2. Deployment Options #

There are two ways to use the chatbot on your website:

2.1 Direct Link #

The direct link opens in a new tab when you click on the “Test Path” button for the “Welcome new user path” in the Builder section.

2.2 Website, Chatbot Widget on a Webpage #

In this mode, you can include a simple JavaScript code within your webpage’s HTML. You can copy the script from the “Script” section within the Website Chatbot settings.

Refer to the code snippet below:

2.3 Chat Position #

Choose the desired position of the chat widget on your website:

  • Bottom Left
  • Bottom right

2.4 Domain Restriction #

You can select this option if you want the web widget to only load when hosted on specific domains.

3. Deploying the Chatbot on Other Website Hosting Platforms #

3.1 WordPress Website #

To add the chatbot script to a WordPress website, follow these steps:

– Log into your WordPress account and open the “Website Creation” section.

– Click on the plugin located on the left-hand side.

– Search for “Header and Footer Scripts” and install it.

– Copy the chatbot script from your Floatchat account (available in the Deploy > Website Chatbot section).

– Add the script to the header section of the plugin and save the file.

Note: This feature requires a WordPress Business plan.

3.2 Magento 2 website #

For adding custom scripts to a Magento 2 website, follow these steps:

– Access the Admin Panel and navigate to Content > Configuration.

– Select the desired store view or choose “Global” for all store views.

– Find the HTML Head section and add your code in the Scripts and Style Sheets field.

– Save the configurations.

3.3 Wix website

To add the Floatchat script to a Wix website, follow these steps:

– Log in to your Wix account and select “Edit Site.”

– Click on “Add Apps” and search for “HTML.”

– Choose “HTML iFrame/Embed” from the Wix App Market and add it to your site.

– Double-click on the window or select the “Enter Code” option.

– Select the “Code” option and paste the Floatchat script in the provided space.


Alternatively, for the new version of Wix websites, follow these steps:

– Log in to your Wix account and select “Edit Site.”

– Click on “Add” from the panel and navigate to “Embed” > “Custom Embeds.”

– Click on the “+” icon next to “Embed a Widget.”

– Double-click on the window or select the “Enter Code” option.

– Select the “Code” option and paste the Floatchat script in the provided space.

3.4 Cargo.sites website

To add the Floatchat script to a Cargo.sites website, follow these steps:

– Access the Custom HTML Editor in the Design tab.

– Copy and paste the Floatchat script with `<script>` and `</script>` tags at the beginning and end of the website’s HTML code.

Note: The script will be applied to all pages of your website.

3.5 Shopify Website #

To add the Floatchat script to a Shopify website,

 follow these steps:

– Go to your Shopify admin site.

– Click on “Customize Theme” and then “Customize.”

– In the “Themes” section, click on “Edit Code.”

– Locate the `</body>` section and add your JavaScript code just above it.

– Refresh the screen, and your chatbot should be visible on your website.

Make sure to follow the respective instructions based on your website hosting platform to successfully deploy the Floatchat chatbot.
