WhatsApp Setup using Twilio

1. Introduction #

WhatsApp Messenger is a freeware, cross-platform messaging, and Voice over IP service. It is a fast-growing messaging platform, and Floatchat allows you to integrate your bot with WhatsApp using the Clickatell integration.

2. Steps to Configure Twilio #


i) Log in to your
Twilio account. #

ii) Select the Project you are working on. #

 

To configure your bot with your Floatchat number, follow these three steps:

2.1 Configuring the URLs

Navigate to Programmable SMS -> WhatsApp -> Senders or follow this link.

2.1.1 Select the number and click on Configure.

2.1.2 Copy the “Inbound Webhook URL” and “Message Status Webhook URL” from the Floatchat Portal and paste them here.

– When a message comes in -> Inbound Message Webhook URL

– Status Callback URL -> Message Status Webhook URL

2.1.3 Copy the WhatsApp number and paste it into the Floatchat Portal.

2.2 Steps to Configure the Authorization Token and Account SID

2.2.1 Open the console Dashboard or access it via https://www.twilio.com/console.

You will find the “Auth Token” and “Account SID” here.

2.3 Steps to configure “Client URL”

2.3.1 Navigate to Programmable SMS -> Learn and Build -> Build or access it via https://www.twilio.com/console/sms/getting-started/build.

You will see a URL beside “Curl”. Copy this URL into the Floatchat Portal.

Note: You can also obtain the Auth token and SID from this page.

2.4 Setup on Floatchat Portal

2.4.1 Copy the above details into the Portal and save them. You will receive a confirmation message stating “Message details saved successfully.”

Once done, you can test your bot on WhatsApp by sending messages like “Hi,” “Hello,” or “Hey.”
