Customer segments

Introduction: #

Managing customer orders and effectively retargeting them can be a challenging task for businesses. Floatchat’s customer segments feature enables you to send targeted broadcasts and order-related notifications to specific groups of customers based on their purchasing categories or patterns.

By default, Floatchat provides a set of 8 system-created segments based on the RFM model. The RFM model analyzes customer purchasing patterns based on three key factors: recency, frequency, and monetary value.

You can access the customer segments feature under the “Store” section, specifically in the “Customers” tab.

Registration

Setup: #

You have the option to utilize the default system-generated segments or create your own customer segments based on your specific use case.

3.1 Add Segment: #

Click on “Add Segment” to create a new segment. Provide a name for the segment.

3.2 Set Date: #

Set a date range for the segment, specifying the time period you want to consider for customer analysis.

3.3 Parameters: #

Define segment parameters based on the number of orders, order amount, average order value (AOV), last order date, and product type. You can also create segments based on customer collection names and country names. Multiple parameters can be added by clicking the “Add Parameter” button.

3.4 Filter Expression: #

Utilize logical expressions such as “AND” and “OR” to combine the conditions you’ve created within the segment. You can also add “CUSTOM” conditions to meet your specific requirements. The expressions will follow a left-to-right evaluation. Please note that only the specified parameters and expressions will work within the segment.

Once the segment is created, it will be visible in the customer segment list. User-created segments will be categorized as “CUSTOM,” while default system-created segments will be categorized as “SYSTEM.” The “Count” indicates the number of customers included in each segment.

System segments automatically refresh and update the count data every 12 hours. However, user-created segments (CUSTOM) need to be manually refreshed by clicking on the “Refresh Segment” button under the ellipsis (“⋮”) menu.

The “Retarget Customers” button will redirect you to the broadcast window, where you can effectively engage with the segmented customers. Additionally, you can download the customer list in a CSV file format using the “Download Customer List” option. The downloaded file includes customer details such as name, email, phone number, store AOV (average order value), customer AOV, number of orders, amount spent, last order date, and product type.
