Best practices for WA template message

To improve the chances of getting your templates approved quickly and ensure a positive customer experience, it’s important to follow these best practices:

1. Error-Free Templates:

  • Ensure your templates are free from spelling and grammatical errors. Templates with major errors are likely to be rejected.
  • Minor errors in punctuation or grammar are acceptable but should be avoided if possible.

2. Type and Language:

  •  Select the appropriate message type and language when submitting your template.

3. Keep Templates Short:

  • Keep your templates concise to effectively convey the necessary information.

4. Enhance Templates:

  • Treat templates as conversation starters to encourage two-way communication. WhatsApp doesn’t charge the Template message fee for two-way messages, reducing costs.
  • Seek feedback from teammates or coworkers to ensure the accuracy and clarity of your written templates.
  • Remind customers of the reason they gave permission to receive your messages. For example: “Hi {{1}}, your order number {{2}} will be delivered by {{3}}.”
  • Avoid using the word “survey” and instead ask customers for feedback.

When using template messages, follow these guidelines for different message types:

1. Standard (text only):

  • Use a maximum of 1024 characters, including variables.
  • You can apply formatting such as bold, italic, strikethrough, code segments, and emojis.

2. Media & Interactive:

  • Text: Include a maximum of 1 variable and 60 characters, including the value.

  • Image: Supported formats are JPG, JPEG, and PNG, with a maximum post-processing size of 5MB.
  • Video: Supported formats are MP4 and 3GPP, with a maximum post-processing size of 16MB.

  • Avoid objectionable or incendiary text to prevent rejection.
  • Use a maximum of 1024 characters, including variables.

For the footer:

  • Avoid objectionable or incendiary text to prevent rejection.

For buttons:

  • Quick reply buttons: Maximum of 3 buttons, with a maximum of 20 characters for button text.
  • Call-to-action (CTA) buttons: Maximum of 2 buttons (phone number & URL), with a maximum of 20 characters for button text. You can use only 1 variable for the URL.
